Ps. Afrika Mhlophe
Devotional Leader
Afrika Mhlophe is married with two children and ministers across various platforms in South Africa and abroad. He runs and facilitates workshops and seminars for companies, focusing on leadership, diversity, wellness, and time management. He hosts a TV and radio programme, "Pressing Matters", which addresses contentious and contemporary issues from a biblical perspective. A sought-after speaker and thinker, he has addressed thousands of men at Mighty Men Conferences throughout South Africa. He is the author of four books, including the South African best-seller "Freed by God but Imprisoned by Culture". Afrika is also a PhD candidate with Trinity Bible College. [https://afrikam.co.za/]

Mr. Niklaas Arangies

Niklaas and Isabel Arangies have been married for 20 years and are joyfully navigating their greatest adventure—raising their four children. A key ally in this journey is the freedom and beauty of their home, Moolmanshoek Leadership Development Centre, nestled in the majestic mountains of the eastern Free State. It's here that the Arangies family thrives, often exploring their breathtaking backyard on foot or horseback. For the past 20 years, Nik and Bella have served side by side at Moolmanshoek LDC, blending their love for the outdoors with a shared heart for ministry. Their passion for camping was sparked at different summer camp venues in the USA, experiences they both cherish with deep gratitude. Deeply committed to their marriage, Nik and Bella have discovered, through their own journey and the support of others, a profound passion for helping couples find joy and healing in their relationships. They believe in the beauty of heaven at home and are dedicated to walking alongside others in pursuit of strong, life-giving marriages.

Mr. Timothy Matheka
Facilitator
Timothy Matheka is the Executive Officer of Tanari Trust, a Christian youth development organization dedicated to equipping young people to become God-fearing community transformers through creative and experiential programmes. He leads youth formation initiatives, strategic partnerships, and programme implementation across churches, schools, and communities. With over 10 years of experience, he is passionate about youth mentorship, Christian camping ministry, and leadership development, working closely with youth leaders, church workers, and educators to design programmes that build character, faith, and life skills. Through training, mentoring, and experiential approaches such as outdoor camps and rites-of-passage programs, he helps develop responsible, values-driven leaders who positively influence their communities. A born-again Christian, Timothy is a father to Esther and Eliel and has served at Buruburu Baptist Church in Nairobi, Kenya, as a youth leader, Elder, and Chairman of the Elders Court. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Studies from the University of Sunderland (UK), along with a Diploma and Certificate in Information Technology from the Kenya School of Professional Studies. His outdoor and experiential training includes serving as a camping facilitator since 2004, a team-building and experiential facilitator since 2008, and participation in Mount Kenya and Kilimanjaro climbs. His areas of expertise include Christian camping ministry and experiential learning, youth leadership development, project administration and planning, programme design for youth formation, and organizational development for faith-based programmes.

Mr. Owen Henderson
Facilitator
Owen brings a wealth of experience from both the ministry and private sector, with a strong passion for people development. Over the past 16 years, he has worked as a Consultant, Trainer, and Facilitator, delivering impactful communication and leadership development programs through his own business. He also serves as a Director and Shareholder of BPG and BPG Consulting. His love for the environment was sparked during his time as Programme Manager for Conservation International (2003–2006), where he played a pivotal role as one of the founding directors of Conservation South Africa, a local arm of Conservation International. Together with his wife Salome, Owen serves as a dedicated servant leader, with a particular heart for ministry and the next generation. They are deeply committed to sharing the transformational message and love of Christ, believing in a holistic approach that ministers to the body, mind, soul, and spirit. Inspired by John 10:10—“I have come that they may have life, and have it in all its fullness”—they live out their calling with purpose and joy. They firmly believe that their appointment at Wortelgat Outreach Trust is divinely timed for such a season as this. With fresh energy, innovative thinking, and a heart for partnership, they are committed to growing the ministry and expanding its impact in today’s world.

Dr. Anna Whitehouse
CreationCare Coordinator
Anna has a background in environmental conservation and education, and loves bringing together her passions for God’s Word and His world through creation care. She is married to Chris, a botanist, and they have 3 boys. Together they set up (in 2014) and run Phillipskop Mountain Reserve, a nature reserve and Christian retreat centre near Stanford in the Western Cape. Anna serves on the Executive Committee for CCSA and as the CreationCare coordinator for CCI.

Ms. Meg Blanckenberg

Meg Blanckenberg served as a gappie in 2017 and 2018, feeling clearly called by the Lord. She has had a number of jobs since - teacher's assistant in a neuro divergent classroom, events organiser, house maintenance assistant, climbing gym belayer, entrepreneur, social media content creator and interior designer. All of which she trusted the Lord to lead her where He wanted her to be. She grew up in a Christian household but has had her share of trials in her walk with Jesus. She now lives with her grandfather in Bellville, ministering through music and being involved in her local church.

Mr. Hein Joubert
Facilitator
Hein Joubert is passionate about seeing lives transformed through authentic encounters with God and meaningful community. He serves as a Director at Rocklands Centre in Simon’s Town, where he helps lead a Christian camp and conference ministry focused on raising young leaders, fostering spiritual growth, and creating spaces where people can experience real connection—with God and with one another. Alongside his ministry involvement, Hein brings extensive professional experience in business intelligence and data analytics. As Head of Business Intelligence at Pepkor Payments and Lending, he specialises in turning complex data into clear, strategic insight. His background spans financial systems, business analysis, and technology, equipping him with a unique ability to think both analytically and relationally. Hein holds qualifications in Business Analysis, Information Technology, and Financial Information Systems, and has worked across organisations including Metropolitan and G4S. Whether in the corporate or ministry environment, he carries a heart for excellence, servant leadership, and developing people to live with purpose and impact.

Dr. Pieter Snyman
Facilitator
Pieter is a South African leader in adventure-based learning, youth development, and Christian ministry. He holds a Doctorate in Organisational Leadership with a focus on Adventure-Related Experiential Learning, a Master’s degree in Challenge Education, and a qualification in Post-School Education, along with a Diploma in Marketing. He serves as Executive Head of the Uniting Christian Students Association (UCSA) and is a Director at the Adventure Institute, where he contributes to developing leaders through experiential and outdoor education. He is also actively involved with Christian Camping South Africa and lectured at Tshwane University of Technology, as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Vocational Education at Haaga-Heila University Finland, bridging academic insight with practical training. As a founding director and executive member of the South African Adventure Industry Association, he plays a key role in shaping professional standards within the outdoor and adventure sector. Pieter is passionate about creating unique, transformative experiences that develop young people and expand God’s Kingdom across South Africa, equipping the next generation through faith, leadership, and intentional adventure-based learning.

Mr. Gert de Bruin
Facilitator
Gert has been married for 14 years to Salome and they have 4 beautiful, adventurous children. His camping experience started 2007 when he toured with Creare - a Christian Arts and Theology College - all over South-Africa ministering and training the youth. In 2018 God called his family to Busisa Family Adventure Retreat, Karkloof, KZN, where they aim to expand their calling to the ministry of reconciliation by living out their passion to facilitate restoration and real connections between people, especially families, through encounters with God and His creation. Gert serves as executive member on Family Foundations Int. - Africa (FFI), Family Development Institute (FDI) and Christian Camping Southern Africa (CCSA). He also runs the SHIFT movement that aims to help youth and young adults shift their hearts back to God and their families through ministry-adventure camps and a Discipleship Year program. He loves playing guitar and exploring the KZN Midlands indigenous forest.
